Details:

A copy of your letter of acceptance into an accredited school of nursing. This is a REQUIRED part of your application. Funds are not available for pre-clinical studies.

Financial need established in writing.

Academic performance. If you are currently enrolled in a qualifying program, please include a copy of your last semester grades. High school students need to enclose a copy of last semester grades.

Residence or work in Loudoun County.

Henrietta Margaret D. Pattishall Memorial Scholarship

Details:  Resident of Culpeper County; enrolled in the nursing program at Germanna Community College; good academic standing; financial need.
Mr. Louis Pattishall established this scholarship in honor of his wife Henrietta Margaret, who was a nurse from 1930-1976 in Arlington, Virginia.  Mrs. Pattishall believed in sharing love by helping others.

Alumni Association of the School of Professional Nursing of Mary Washington Hospital

Details:  Enrolled in the nursing program at Germanna Community College; resident of King George, Caroline, Spotsylvania, Stafford or the City of Fredericksburg; good academic standing; financial need.
Graduates of the Mary Washington Hospital School of Professional Nursing established this scholarship.  Mrs. Marie Lacy Rollins, mother of Dr. Jane Ingalls, Director of Nursing at GCC, was a member of the graduating class of 1930.

Dale M. Featherston Scholarship

Details:  Virginia resident; enrolled in the nursing program at Germanna Community College; good academic standing; financial need as determined by FAFSA.
This scholarship is part of the Dale Featherston Endowment, Created to honor Ms. Dale Featherston, long-time Director of Nursing at GCC, upon her retirement.

Kathryn Garrett Korzeniewski Memorial Scholarship
Details:  Enrolled in the nursing program at Germanna Community College; good academic standing; financial need.
This scholarship was established in memory of Kathy Korzeniewski, a GCC nursing student who died in 1994 in a diving accident in Hawaii.  Her classmates and family members raised funds for the scholarship.

Stella Rhodes Almond Nursing Scholarship
Details:  Enrolled in the nursing program at GCC; good academic standing; financial need.
Mrs. Marion Ferguson established this scholarship in 1990 in honor and memory of her sister, Mrs. Stella Rhoades Almond.  Mrs. Almond as a teacher in Orange County, Virginia for over forty years.

Scholarship funds to be given:  $500

Bertha Mae Seay Massey Memorial Scholarship
Details:  Enrolled in the nursing program at GCC; good academic standing; financial need.
Her family, to honor Mrs. Massey’s memory, established this scholarship.  She was a long-time resident of Spotsylvania County with great appreciation of the nursing profession because of her long-term illness.

Raynold (“Randy”) Collier Glazebrook, III Scholarship
Full-time first or second-year nursing student at Germanna (GCC students accepted into the program); or
a licensed or registered nurse currently employed in the medical field who wishes to continue his/her education. Selection will be based on academic achievement, financial need, and information contained in the student application essay.  Applicants must apply for federal financial aid by filling the appropriate applications prior to deadline for the next academic year and must demonstrate financial need.

Linda Nelson Memorial Scholarship
A 1994 graduate of the GCC Nursing Program, Ms. Nelson is memorialized by her family with the established of this scholarship. She died suddenly in 1996.

Pearline Soltes Scholarship
A graduate of the Mary Washington Hospital School of Nursing, Mrs. Soltes is memorialized by her family with the establishment of this scholarship.

Kristen and Katie Lisk Scholarship
Kristen and Katie Lisk are memorialized by their family and friends with the establishment of this scholarship.

Mary Frances Willis and James G. Willis Scholarship
Mrs. Harriet M. Cole of Fredericksburg established this annual scholarship through the Kiwanis Foundation of Fredericksburg in memory of her daughter, Mary Frances Willis and her late husband, James G. Willis

Earl Felix Aylor Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship memorializes Earl Aylor, a graduate of GCC Nursing program.  The scholarship was established by his wife, Bess Aylor , his friends and colleagues.

Otis and Mescal Burke Scholarship
The Otis and Mescal Burke Scholarship established in 2009 will provide financial assistance awards to qualified studetns enrolled in credit courses at GCC.

Commonwealth Legacy Scholarship

This scholarship is provided by the Virginia Commonwealth College System. This scholarship is designed to aid a student who would like to become an ambassador for the college. This student in exchange for the scholarship, will attend a Commonwealth Legacy Scholar Luncheon in Richmond; become involved in Student Services at the college; and continue to be a strong link between the college and the students.

Scholarship funds to be given: $3000

John J. “Jack” Condon Memorial Scholarship

Duval Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2006. The Duval Scholarship funds shall be utilized for scholarships for qualified students at Germanna Community College.

Caroline County Agricultural Fair Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the Caroline County Agricultural Fair Advisory Board. This scholarship will aid a student whom is a resident from Caroline County who is enrolled or enrolling at Germanna Community College

Scholarship funds to be given: $500

Details: Must be a Caroline County resident, Financial need may be considered is to be considered, Student may fall into any of these categories: graduating high school senior, continuing or new student a Germanna Community College, Scholarhip may be applied toward tuition and/or books for a full-time or part-time student for credit courses or Workforce & Community Education classes.
Hazel Harris Heath Scholarship for Nursing

Mrs. Hazel Harris was born and raised in King George County; she was one of four students in the King George graduation class in 1925. She graduated from Mary Washington Hospital School of Nursing in 1929 and practiced nursing for many years.

Charles H. Huffman Memorial Scholarship

The Memorial Foundation of the Germanna colonies in Virginia, Inc. established this scholarship to recognize Dr. Huffman, the original president of the organization. The organization donated the 100 acre tract on which the Locust Grove Campus of Germanna Community College was constructed.

Comfort Keepers Scholarship for Nursing

This scholarship was established by Neda McGuire, president of Comfort Keepers in Fredericksburg. This is a Fredericksburg organization that provides non-medical in-home care to patients in the Fredericksburg area.

The Alfred and Mary Jane King Scholarship for Nursing

The Alfred and Mary Jane King scholarship for Nursing was established in March 2008 with a one time gift given to the Educational Foundation. It’s intent is to assist a student in the nursing program.
