Long term care nursing scholarships

Long Term Care Nursing Scholarship

As our populace grows in our country, coupled with the aging of many, it is imperative that our medical schools educate and graduate nurses to fulfill our society’s critical need for this long term nursing care shortage. Long term care male nursing scholarships are available.

The majority of long term nursing care needed can be found from patients that are too old to physically care for themselves or with medical problems from such diseases as Diabetes or Alzheimer’s. As our baby boomers continue to age, a strain for specialized nurses will continue to grow. Stroke or accident patients can also need long term nursing care. Whether the long term care is located at the patient’s home, a nursing home or a rehabilitation center, nurses need to be trained for their specific needs.

A major way to promote an influx of more specialized nurses for the treatment of patients who need long term nursing care is through giving them access to many scholarships. Now, with the help from private and public organizations, and the Federal Government, programs have been implemented to help individuals gain access to these scholarships.

Long term care nursing scholarships from private and public organizations exists in many states. Once an individual starts looking, they will be amazed. As stated by Scholarships.com, in North Carolina, The Virginia Elizabeth and Alma Vane Taylor Student Nurse Fund offers up to a thousand dollars for nursing educational expenses, regardless of the specialty. According to the University of Iowa College of Nursing, through their Geriatric Nursing School, they have a 2.2 million dollar gift commitment to the UI Foundation for nursing scholarships.

The United States Department of Health and Human Resources has stated that the Federal Government has initiated a nursing scholarship program. This program virtually pays for all your nursing school expenses and gives a monthly stipend for the aid in living expenses. In return, the individual must work at certain health facilities for two years after graduation. There are also other restrictions.

There are many more scholarships associated with long term nursing care education. Take the time and find what is best for your circumstances.

College Nursing Scholarships

College scholarships and grants for nursing

Nursing is a fine profession that requires compassion, intelligence and strength. Going through the training and educational process is not easy. To help obtain the finances to make it through the years of study, nursing scholarships are available for those who qualify. A written essay is a very important element of the application process. Some scholarships are chosen exclusively on the contents of the essay that addresses the concerns of the program.

Write the essay according to the instructions on the scholarship application. There should be a clear outline with an introduction, body and conclusion. Introduce the topics to be discussed, go into the discussion and conclude with the points of what was discussed. Answer any questions or concerns expressed by the program. If necessary have the writing edited by an English teacher.

Avoid anyone asking for a credit card number, charging a fee or promising that some kind of scholarship is sure to be won. There are scams which appear to be offering scholarships. No one can guarantee a scholarship will be obtained. Do not go to a motel room to pick up a financial aid package unless you want to hear a long sales pitch on a scholarship search service.

The student must make a decision to go for an Associate degree which takes about 2 to 3 years or a Bachelor’s degree which takes 4 to 5 years. Job opportunities will be about the same coming out of college, but more opportunities are available for the Bachelor’s degree graduates later on in a career. A Masters degree can be obtained for the Advanced Practicing Nursing degree (A. P. N.) which allows for diagnosis of medical conditions and prescribing medicines much like a doctor.

Writing the scholarship essay should include personal goals and forward looking statements in the nursing field. Answer any questions thoroughly adding individual personality and charisma. Show the judges that you are a unique person who desires to be of service in the nursing profession. Be serious about the goals ahead and be original with each essay written for each scholarship. Good luck! There are more state by state nursing scholarships. College nursing scholarships for single mothers are listed too.

Minority Nursing Scholarships

Scholarships for Minority Nursing Students

There are over 2.9 million licensed registered nurses and the minorities percentages are as follows 4.2% are African-American or roughly 122,400 and 3.1% Hawaiian, Pacific Islander or Asian; making that total around 90,000. 1.7% of nurses are of Hispanic or Latin origins or about 48,000 and 0.3% are American Indian and Alaska Native.

From the 2.9 million nurses only 168,181 are men; women make up more than 94% percent of the field.  Most RNs in the field are over the age of 40 with only 8.0% percent of the nursing population being under the age of 30. Generally male nurses are younger than female nurses, 30% of male nurses are younger than 40 and only 26% of women are under 40, but the average age of the RN in the United States for both men and women together is 46 years old. From the 2.9 registered nurses in the United States 2.4 million are employed with an employment percentage slightly over 83%. With a demand for bilingual nurses 88% of Hispanic or Latino origin nurses are employed and only 82% of white or Caucasian nurses. Of the 2.4 million employed nurses more than 50% are employed full time and the percentage depends on the origin or race of the nurse; ranging from 75.2% of Hispanics to 81% of Caucasian full time nurses.

Most RN’s work in hospitals, which employ over 55% of registered nurses or well over 1.3 million. The area in the United States that has the highest minority ratio is the Pacific area of the United States at 19%. African-American nurses have the highest minority ratio in the South Central area of the United States.

Millions of men and women of all ages and races choose nursing career over other career options because nursing is both respectable and high earning career. More and more men now employed as registered nurses.

To make the most out of Navy nursing and Navy nursing scholarships

Most of the cadets think about what they actually deserve from the government for whom they are sacrificing their time and happiness of life. Where they are up to while protecting the vast country for which they are taking all the pains of life. All of them come to a common platform when they think about what could be fetched by a graduate degree end of the day. However, the truth is something very different. In fact it would not be wrong if it is said that by joining Navy, they all have got a life time opportunity which has no end when it comes to a rewarding carrier. Actually, by serving the nation they are getting the access to earn huge amount of money through their service tenure and in fact, they all could enjoy the benefits after retirement as well. Due to the same reason, it has been told for the Navy that even a ex- member could enjoy various benefits as an active employee in Navy.

That is how, the scope of various navy scholarships are available which an active cadet could make the most of it by taking the full advantage. Now, none of the cadets will complain about the rising price of school fees, books or about the price hikes of daily commodities.

So, first of all the interested cadets cold look for better options and for that, they all can start by checking  veterans office in order to see what and how much they could do for us. Actually, lot of times it has been seen that cadets have got financial assistance for their tuition, fees, books, and other stuffs for their school. In fact, this kind of scholarship is regularly comprised of the coverage of all the living expenses. It means that, it is a great help for the cadets who have many dependents in their family. At the same time, these scholarships are ideal for those people who are earning while learning. However, by taking these scholarships a cadet is free from educational burden for the time being.

Other than these facilities, a cadet could easily use the navy scholarships which are given to lend a hand when he needs to compromise with his daily expenses and need to pay for the tuition fees, books, fees, and much other stuff which he usually needs. So, a cadet could expect around $10,000 as a scholarship amount to maintain these costs. The best about these scholarships is that each cadet is eligible for this kind of scholarship and the amount would be given each year. So, the entire group defense personnel could even get such kind of a lump sum amount of money as the scholarship.

To apply for these kinds of scholarships, no one need to pay any extra amount as the procedure is free. Now, cadets are free from those scholarships which have to be applied with some payable application forms.

General Nursing Scholarships

General nursing scholarships provide a great avenue to pay for additional education. Careers in the health-care field are growing across the nation. There is a great current and future demand for nurses within all specialties. Due to medical advancement people are living a longer better quality of life. There will be open jobs in clinics, hospitals, and within private practices. Here are some reasons to consider applying for general nursing scholarships.

Many students complete their education and realize they are in a great deal of debt. Some debt may have to be incurred if there is not enough money set aside for college. Scholarships can help to pay for different types of fees incurred for education.

General nursing scholarships help students within a number of different nursing specialties. Many extra costs for books, uniforms, and living expenses tend to overwhelm students that have great financial need.

Towards the end of the nursing education hands on training may occur. A general nursing scholarship can help to pay for all of the costs associated with preceptor ship. During the preceptor ship working in the hospital certain equipment and uniforms are mandatory.

Working in an outside full time job and keeping up with coursework is challenging. In some instances excess scholarship funds can be used to pay for housing, food costs, and living expenses. Taking the time to apply for scholarships can have a great impact on how comfortable finances are during and after school. Having basic expenses paid for helps to concentrate on coursework without being stressed out.

Multiple scholarships can be applied for continuously throughout school. The monetary denominations may vary. Some scholarships may renew each quarter if a specific grade point average is maintained. Other scholarships are a one time form of help. Receiving multiple scholarship awards each semester can help remove the need for having to take up additional jobs or additional student loans.

Apply for general nursing scholarships of all types and amounts. Students that are diligent in completing these applications regularly have a greater chance of incurring less student loan debt. Consider these benefits of general nursing scholarships and apply today.

Thousands of nursing scholarships and grants, ranging from local community-based grants to college nursing scholarships and federal nursing grants, are available to nursing students.  Below i have listed some nursing scholarship and grants.  Bookmark this site for easy reference !
